Gifts That Cost You Nothing Now

Gifts in a will, or trust, or by beneficiary designation are three easy ways to leave a legacy of hope for the next generation — and costs nothing during your lifetime.

Simple Ways to Create Your Legacy

You can learn more about these special opportunities in our free brochure, Simple Ways to Create a Kingdom Legacy, and other complimentary planning resources. These resources are just a click away!

Gifts in a Will

Including K-LOVE in your will or trust is one of the simplest and most meaningful ways to make a lasting impact. After providing for your loved ones, you can choose to extend your generosity and help share the hope of Jesus through a legacy gift.

A gift in your will or trust offers several important benefits:

  • Lasting Impact: Your gift helps more people experience a growing relationship with Jesus for generations to come.
  • Flexible: You may change your plans at any time and for any reason.
  • No Immediate Financial Impact: Your gift does not affect your current income or assets and takes effect in the future.
  • Join a community of like-minded believers in the K-LOVE Legacy Society.

Four simple, “no-cost-now” ways to give in your will

Residuary Gift
A residuary gift is a gift of all or a percentage of the remainder of your estate after specific bequests and expenses have been paid.
Specific Bequests or Gifts

A specific gift is a gift of a particular piece of property. For example, real estate, funds in a bank account or shares of a corporation. A general bequest is a gift of a specific amount.

Contingent Gift

A contingent gift takes effect only if the primary beneficiary or beneficiaries do not live longer than you. In other words, your gift is contingent upon whether or not they survive after you.

We’re honored and blessed by your contingent planned gifts. At this time, contingent gifts are not recognized as part of the K-LOVE Legacy Society.

You can mix these no-cost ways together. For example, you might consider leaving a specific percentage (such as 50%) of the residual to K-LOVE contingent upon the survival of your spouse.

Gifts by Beneficiary Designation

It’s easy to put your bank accounts, retirement funds, savings bonds and more to use in making K-LOVE the most trusted source of compelling media — and it costs you nothing now. By naming K-LOVE as a beneficiary of these assets, you can power our mission for years to come and establish your personal legacy of amplifying the Gospel.

Potential benefits of gifts by beneficiary designation:

  • Reduce or eliminate taxes
  • Reduce or avoid probate fees
  • No cost to you now to give
  • Join a community of like-minded believers in the K-LOVE Legacy Society.

Types of Gifts

Retirement Plan Assets

You can simply name K-LOVE as a beneficiary of your retirement plan to support the ministry. Retirement plan assets such as IRAs and 401(k)s may be subject to both estate and income taxes when passed to heirs. Because K-LOVE is a nonprofit ministry and does not pay estate or income taxes, your full gift will be used to impact lives for Jesus for generations to come.

Life Insurance Policies

You may name K-LOVE as a beneficiary of all or a portion of your life insurance policy. With this arrangement, K-LOVE will receive that amount from your policy after your lifetime. This flexible gift allows you to care for your family while also making a meaningful impact through ministry. You can adjust your beneficiary designation at any time, and in some cases this type of gift may reduce estate taxes.

Bank or Brokerage Accounts

This is one of the easiest gifts to give and one of the most useful in accomplishing your philanthropic goals. The next time you visit your bank, you can name K-LOVE (Tax ID: 99-0434313) as the beneficiary of a checking or savings bank account, a certificate of deposit (CD), or a brokerage account. When you do, you’ll take a powerful step toward spreading the reach and influence of faith-based content for generations to come.

Funds Remaining in Your Donor-Advised Fund

When you created your donor-advised fund, you may have been given the opportunity to name a successor or charitable beneficiary. By recommending that any remaining funds be granted to K-LOVE, you can continue sharing God’s love even beyond your lifetime. It’s a simple way to complete the generosity story you’ve already begun.

How to update a beneficiary designation:

Simply contact your bank, retirement plan administrator, insurance company, or other financial institution to request a beneficiary designation form. You may also be able to log in to your account and update your beneficiaries online.
